With the recent sunshine, Spring looks like it has sprung in Washingwell’s woods! Jupiter and Venus used their eyes, ears and noses to search for signs of Spring, using their knowledge of habitats to explore the site to try and find each sign on their sheet. There was an abundance of new growth to wonder at and insects to identify, but the biggest hit? Worms! We shared facts about worms, created mini habitats and cared carefully for each worm found.
We also continue to explore fire lighting techniques together. Suzanne and Sophie are very proud of children in both Venus and Jupiter as they practice this skill, which for some can be a task of perseverance and great patience, whilst others become experts and share their knowledge with their peers. We’re planning on a big cookout at our last session before Easter!
